GABRIELLA DI LACCIO – SOPRANO
Gabriella Di Laccio MBE is an award-winning soprano, recording artist, public speaker, curator, and activist, who has become one of the leading voices in the fight for gender equality in music.
Gabriella enjoys an international career that spans opera, oratorio, and chamber music. Recognised by Sir Charles Mackerras as “a singer of outstanding talent,” she performs regularly as a soloist on major stages across Europe, South America, and beyond. Her vocal range and expressive clarity have earned her acclaim for performances that effortlessly bridge the stylistic worlds of baroque, classical, and contemporary music.

Gabriella is also the founder of Donne, Women in Music – a charitable foundation dedicated to achieving gender equality in the music industry. In June 2025, she was appointed a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) for her services to music and gender equality.
Her operatic repertoire includes leading roles such as Cleopatra (Giulio Cesare), Semele (Semele), Adina (L’Elisir d’Amore), Musetta (La Bohème), Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro), Despina (Così fan tutte), and Zerlina (Don Giovanni). On the concert platform, she has performed major works by Bach, Handel, Vivaldi, Haydn, and Mozart in prestigious venues including Wigmore Hall, Purcell Room at Southbank Centre, Elgar Room at Royal Albert Hall, St John’s Smith Square, and the Megaron Opera House in Athens. She appears regularly with renowned early music ensembles such as Florilegium, Il Festino, Di Profundis, and the Baroque Orchestra of Mercosur.
Gabriella is passionate about bringing classical music closer to audiences worldwide and expanding the vocal repertoire to include music by women composers from past and present. Over the past two years, she has premiered more than ten new works by women composers, connecting new audiences with a broader and more inclusive musical canon. She is also noted for her commitment to Latin American art song, with performances featuring the music of Villa-Lobos, Braga, Ginastera, and others.
She is the winner of the Air Europa Classical Act of the Year, Peter Pears Prize, Richard III Prize, and Acquisition International’s Most Inspirational Female Musician 2021, and was also included in the latest edition of The Female Book: 67 Women Changing the World Today.
